My Background

Movies were the most vibrant element of my childhood that was filled with war scenes. They were my getaway to different worlds. In my early years, I enjoyed being a viewer, I would just lay back and dive into the world unfolding in the screen in front of me; it still surprises me now to see that I became the maker. It does not come with the same relaxed attitude though, but I still carry the same amount of joy and passion.

I started telling stories through music videos, I enjoyed revealing characters and moments, over more than 10 years and 20 music videos.

It was only 15 years after my graduation from the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts in Lebanon, in 2012, that I started in a journey to co-write and direct my first feature Mahbas. The film premiered at the Dubai International Film Festval in 2016 and was released in theaters in 2017 across Lebanon, Syria, UAE, Jordan, Kuweit, and Sweden, and participated in film festivals around the world.

I am now the Executive Director of the Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication, at AUD, a place that I call home for the past 11 years and recently got back to the student seat at the School’s Master program.

I am a mother of 2 boys, Jad 14 an Ziad 9, and my world revolves around them. I would like to make them proud again soon, with a second feature film, now in process.
